The User-Friendly, Lat/Lon <=> X/Y, Datum to Datum, Data Conversion Program.
CDC converts coordinate data in any DOS-ASCII, formatted, text file, or any ODBC data source, with complete user control of output format. The program has an intuitive, visual, easy-to-use interface, including pop-up button hints, context-sensitive help, a comprehensive Windows Help facility and an Adobe Acrobat User's Manual.
Lat/Lon <=> X/Y Conversions
CDC can convert between spherical (lat/long) and Cartesian (x/y) coordinates in the UTM, State Plane and Canadian coordinate systems, and more than 200 other international projections.
For North America, the program supports both the NAD27 and NAD83 U.S. and Canadian projection systems, and automatically sets the correct spheroid and units for the selected projection. For the rest of the world, there are 200+ international projections, and the UTM projection system covers the globe from 80S to 84N, from 180W to 180E.
CDC contains many of the most common spheroids, units, and prime meridians and can easily be extended to include any not currently defined.
Datum to Datum Transforms
CDC converts lat/long values between different datums. The program implements the high accuracy Multiple Regression Equation transform for a limited number of common datums, and implements the less accurate Molodensky transform for hundreds of less common datums.
